CLARISCIA GILL
At the age of 10, Clariscia Gill was determined to be a fashion designer or an architect. The many businesswomen, corporate clients, celebrities, musicians and stage stars for whom she has transformed wardrobes or crafted a unique couture dress are pleased she chose the former. The launch of her career-chic, day-into-eveningwear 'customised fashion' collection for the modern professional woman at her new boutique and studio in London's Lancashire Court is the latest step in an illustrious fashion career.
Classically trained as a couturier at the London College of Fashion, Clariscia honed her skills creating costumes for film, TV and theatre for costumier Berman's & Nathan, work she continues to enjoy today. In 1997, she launched her 'CG Couture' label of daywear, cocktail and eveningwear and 'special occasion' gowns, also available from her new shop, which has brought her into contact with fashion greats like Bruce Oldfield and Philip Treacy.
A skilled and trusted personal image consultant and stylist, Clariscia has forged close, enduring relationships with her clients. Celebrities, musicians, beauty queens, the professional woman with a strong, individual and confident self-image, like herself, who has achieved acclaim in her career - whether she's a banking, legal, ad or PR exec - are all Clariscia Gill customers.
She has made an impact with the fashion and lifestyle media, including appearances on BBC1, Sky One and UK Living, but is particularly proud of being chosen as a finalist in the Young Career Woman Awards and in Cosmopolitan's Achievement Awards for 'outstanding women in Britain'. Recognised by her contemporaries, Clariscia was honoured by fashion photographer Bernhardt von Spreckelsen in his 'Faces of Fashion' exhibition as part of London Fashion Week (date/season), with her portrait seen alongside those of John Rocha, Zandra Rhodes and Paul Smith.
