We all know that wardrobe problem at this time of the year; it’s not cold enough for a heavy coat but it’s also not so hot that you can’t leave the house without a few extra layers. Clariscia has shared the evolution of a jacket she has designed to help combat that problem of our awkward British weather.
Made from cloqué (literally meaning ‘blistered’ in French), this double layered or compound fabric with a Jacquard effect, is warm enough to protect you from the cold, yet light enough so that you don’t feel too heavy. With one side of the fabric being an ecru colour with hints of antique gold and noir, and the other showing a deep noir, reversing the pattern of deconstructed roses, Clariscia’s immediate observation was that this stunning piece of fabric could only become a reversible style jacket. Why choose only one side if you can wear them both!
Voila, by using both sides, CG has created a jacket of which you get double usage by reversing it.
Cut with a Japanese Kimono-like sleeve, it has a drawstring belt made from Nubuck suede (cowhide leather that has been rubbed on the outer side of the hide to give it a feel like that of suede), that brings it together with a fully flared peplum, Clariscia has left the choice entirely up to you; you can wear it from the start of your busy work day slipping easily into your dressier evening events by reversing it.
