Clariscia was delighted to accept the post of head judge at the annual FDC Young Designer Awards and fashion collections showcase held at the Pullman London Hotel in St Pancras. The judges, took up the mantle to sift through the presented fashion designs in order to derive winners for each of the three given categories.
Shanice Emily stood out, winning for the Radical Designer Award with all of the judges unanimously agreeing she was a clear winner, in not only her innovative design but she impressed everyone with her business grasp of the industry, her sharp presentation both audibly and visually in her mood boards.
Her garments construction was on point and well executed.
Iasha Masood took the title in the emerging designer section. She was most visionary with her Van Goth’s Sunflowers inspired ballgown complete with clever internal pyrotechnics to light up the sunflower stems.
The final category for Young Designer Award saw, Francesca Phipps win. Her well executed cut and tailoring proved a hit with the judges. The judges also gave an extra award to Chantelle Frimpong whom they all felt had made an exceptional presentation with the beautiful use of lace in her presented gown.
A wonderful display of creativity followed later with the many collections presented on the fashion runway. Well done to organiser, Joanna Marcell for staging this important event which certainly encourages and boost the confidence of new designers.
