A simply wonderfully warm November evening was the perfect setting for the launch of the Three Little Birds Restaurant. This exciting new concept is the brainchild of April Jackson who you may also recognise as a contestant on the current episodes of; The Apprentice.
We at CGHQ, applaud the enterprising former CG Couture model and muse in her venture. Set in the increasingly popular area of London’s Brixton, burgeoning with trendy eclectic eateries, the Jamaican themed cafe and boutique by day, transforms in the evening into a lively Rum Shop with a fine list of cocktails to savour. A visit is highly recommended.

If a hat and a wig had a love child, this would be the result. At aged just 28 years old, Charli Le Mindu has worked with just about every top avant-garde performance artiste you could think of including, Lady Gaga, Cirque du Soleil performers to current stage sensation, FK Twigs. Charli maintains however, that his all time favourite clients are, the many little old ladies who trek to his Parisienne Atelier for the regular hats he designs and makes for them.
His story is charted in his newly released book; Haute Coffieur, charting his humble beginnings to his rapid status as re-known mix of, hairdresser, come milliner, come wig maker.
A busy week in the Atelier was nicely interrupted with the delivery to CGHQ of this beautiful glass award. Clariscia was surprised and honoured to hear of her nomination but sadly, due to prior client commitments, she was unable to receive it in person at the Star Award ceremony held back in May.
”To be nominated and to receive an award for doing something I enjoy so much, sharing my experience with those coming into the trade behind me, makes it extra special. I am most grateful and send my thanks to those who kindly nominated me with a very special thank you to Medina Williamson.”…. says Clariscia.
We send a big warm thank you to Sandra Nelson, the founder of this inspirational Awards ceremony. You can read a full review of the ceremony on the below link.
The Lift Effects forthcoming event themed, ‘Youths have dreams’ takes place on 22nd of August. More details are available in the above flyer with a link for booking below.

Clariscia met these gorgeous looking ladies on her journey into work this morning. Mary-Lisa and friends brought a colourful touch of summer splendour to Brixton with their lovely attire and hats on their way to the Royal Ascot Horse Race.
We are loving their sensible footwear plan with co-ordinating flip flops with a change of shoes neatly nearby. We all at CGHQ wish them a lucky successful wager.
